What is the difference between EMS and TENS in your foot massagers?

FAQ 2021-07-13

Our foot massagers integrate both EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) and TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) technologies for comprehensive foot care:

  • EMS: Uses gentle electrical impulses to stimulate muscle contractions in the feet and lower legs, helping to strengthen muscles, improve circulation, and reduce muscle fatigue. It mimics natural movement to “exercise” foot muscles while you relax.
  • TENS: Targets nerve endings to block pain signals and provide relief from foot discomfort, soreness, and conditions like plantar fasciitis. It works by stimulating sensory nerves to create a tingling or massaging sensation that distracts the brain from pain.

Many of our models, such as the TENS and EMS foot massager shoes, offer dual-mode functionality, allowing users to switch between or combine these technologies for customized foot care.
